The immediate goal was to clean and repair the exterior of the depot to enhance its visual appeal for the community. Thanks to fundraising efforts dating back to the 1990s, we were able to get started right away. With the help of volunteers, we have restored the depot to a usable space. However, to maintain the integrity of the depot, we do not rent out this space at this time. It is used under the Town’s supervision for events such as "Selfies with Santa Claus" after the parade and face painting during Freedom Fest. Our long-term goal is to establish the depot as a historical point of interest for Robbins and to revitalize the caboose that was moved there in 2023, turning it into a usable and tourable space.
The Mayor, Manager and Commissioners are actively seeking to attract businesses and industrial companies, including rail freight using industry to revitalize the local economy.
